One of the many enjoyable treats of being a miniature artist is to be able to switch gears and explore a variety of totally different styles in art dolls. That's what I like most...to design and create as I choose.
I decided that I'm going to create more famous character dolls to add to my existing OOAK miniature family the likes of Captain Jack, Elvira, Chummy, the Mad Hatter, Albert Einstein and other super stars.
I'm pleased to present one of the artist greats of the past, Freida Kahlo. Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón was a Mexican painter known for her many portraits, self-portraits, and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico. Here is my tribute miniature doll of Frida:
Frida is outfitted in her iconic Mexican fashion
She is dressed in fine linen cotton fabric and is fully poseable
I've even detailed her down to her prosthetic right leg and created several hand-made jewelry pieces
