I'm pleased to share with you that my health has been on the mend these past few months and the lights are back on in my studio.
Happy to say that my creative juices have been building back up, starting with new miniature furniture treasures.....from colorful cotton covered chairs, settees and even an elegant Victorian Chaise, covered in rich silk brocade. After having fun with designing OOAK furniture again I decided it was time to jump back into my miniature doll world and design one that was perfect for the times we're all having to deal with.
I'm pleased to introduce you to my creative beginning of Morpheus:
I started sculpting his head - face & beak-like mask out of a block of Prosculpt polymer clay
And then designed and fitted him with his Medieval protective hat
After creating his body with my fully poseable wire armature, I started on his costume
Now fully dressed, please welcome Morpheus Nightshade, The Plague Doctor
During Medieval times a Plague Doctor was a medical physician who treated victims of the bubonic plague and other epidemics. Their long beaked mask was typically filled with sweet or strong smelling herbs to filter out bad air.
